Harmony Inc. Area 2 AC&C

The Harmony Inc. Area 2 Contest and Convention was a great success for local singers. Friday evening featured the quartet contest. It was great to hear Blue Champagne test those mics and Under the Wire (who entertained us last Monday evening) qualify for the Harmony Inc. International Contest and Convention in Indianapolis in November 2002. They placed fifth in a great contest.

Saturday featured the Chorus contest and Montreal Chapter of Harmony Inc. qualified also, earning the Area 2 Achievement Award and third place in an excellent contest.

We can count on a number of the women of Harmony Inc. to be helping us during International 2003.

Love it or hate it, it is approved and final. Work has begun on materials for Portland 2002. We will be wearing shirts, providing registration pins and other materials.

The fun has just begun, get on board and enjoy the ride! Several members of the chorus are going to be in Portland to sell registrations and generally promote Montreal as a desirable site for what we hope will be a record number of barbershoppers. After all, we have a big 40% off sale on Canadian destinations.

Just An Old Fashioned Love Song

It's a song! It's a show! It's 4 weeks away!

The long awaited Tom Gentry arrangement of " Just An Old Fashioned Love Song" arrived, and we started to learn it last Monday. It will be both the opener and closer for our show of the same name. It seems to be very singable and not too difficult to learn. Several of us thanked Tom for his work on this great fun song at AC&C this weekend.

While this is not the first. but the second arrangement the chorus has commissioned,. it will be fun knowing that we are singing an arrangement that nobody else knows.

A preliminary order of performance has been decided. The chorus will sing the songs with a bullet. Quartets will sing songs that are not part of current Chorus repertoire.

For Tonight Only (3 songs)

FINALE: Just an Old Fashioned Love Song (Reprise)

The afterglow has been moved back to Dynastie de Chine (across from Bombardier on Laurentien Blvd.). The cost will be $16.00 per person. Those who were there two years ago will remember the food was great and plentiful.

Set up those risers, Leads.

Thank you, to all those who have taken on the responsibility for setting up and taking down the risers. Please lend a hand where you can.
