He, who dies with the most toys, is, nonetheless, still dead.
Harmony Inc Area 2 Contest.
This coming Friday and Saturday, on April 23 and 24, 2004, we have been asked to assist the Montreal Chapter of Harmony Inc. as they put on their Area Convention and Contest (AC&C) at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel in Laval. It is at the junction of Highway 440 and AutoRoute 15.
The members of Harmony Inc were of tremendous help to us in running our International Convention, so we need to support them this time.
There are 18 quartets singing on Friday evening and 13 choruses singing on Saturday. The Friday event will require people for helping the quartets through the pattern. Warm up, photographs, final warm up, stage and then they will get to see the rest of the quartets. We will need to be there at 6:00 PM (earlier if you can.) The contest should be over by 9:30 PM.
The choruses will follow the roughly same pattern and we will need to be there by 10:30 AM. The contest starts at 12:00 noon and should be over by 3:00 PM.
There is a "show" on Saturday evening and volunteers are able to attend free. Please confirm your participation on Monday evening.
Show time is coming.
Nearly all the tickets for the ground floor are out. The question is "How many have been sold?" May 29 is Show Time! Time is marching on. Since we have such a great show, we should be able to sell out the Salle Pierre Mercure. Give your ticket money to Ray Watkins as soon as possible.
We have some ads sold. Alan Kenley has agreed to co-ordinate the Show Program, and he need s to get the advertisements so he can put the book together. If you have ads sold, get them to Alan as soon as you can. This week is not at all too soon!
We have two great quartets coming. Four Voices were the 2002 International Champions and The Gas House Gang won gold in 1993, but they keep getting better! Mike Slamka, lead of 2003 Champions, Power Play will be singing baritone with the Gang when they are with us here in Montreal. Commonly Unique will also be singing on the show. It should be a blast.
This Space Available For Article.
I find it very hard to believe that all the members of the chorus are illiterate. I have heard some of you talk, and you seem to be able to string words together in sentences. Perhaps you would like to share a barbershop experience, or an idea with the other members? I will be pleased to receive submissions.
