Being overweight just sort of snacks up on you.

We sang for the vets.

After singing on several floors of the hospital, we were part of the Show that is put on for the veterans and their families every December 31st. We closed the first half of the show and were asked to do an encore. Our audience was very appreciative.

Some of the guys stayed to see the second appearance by the Lorna Walker Dancers, but most of the gang left and were able to get home by mid afternoon.

Register for GNHW tonight!

During the afternoon of the Great Northern Harmony Workshop, we are going to be coached as a chorus by Dave Calland, Lead of Uptown Sound and Director of The Alliance 4th place medallist Chorus at this year's International. He is a wonderful coach and it will be an amazing opportunity. You also get to choose one of the half-day sessions for the morning session to complement the coaching session.

The price is now $65. Since we all need to be registered, and in attendance, do it today!

Our featured guest quartet is MatriX with Dale Fetick (Tn) Jeff Wallace (Ld), Brian O'Dell (Bs) and Paul Gilman (Bt).

NED's own Overdrive with Jason Woolf (Tn), Al St. Louis (Ld), John Sinclair (Bs), Eric Ruthenberg (Bt.) will also be on hand to coach and sing.

Can you do costumes? Give it a shot.

The job of Wardrobe Manager is one of that needs someone to say, "I'll do that." Volunteer to take on one of the many jobs that need to be done by our Chapter, and require a bit of your time, but come with a big reward. If you aren't currently involved in running the Chapter somehow, step forward, and say, "I'd like to help." Trust me, there are enough jobs for everyone!

Show time is coming. Sell ads, tickets.

It's Show Time! Have you sold any ads yet? How about tickets? Have you thought about people you would like to invite to see you do "that thing you do on Monday nights?" Ray Watkins has the tickets. Get yours soon, and make sure to sell them, then bring in the money.

We have fabulous music to sing for our audience, and we are learning it well. We have two outstanding International Champion quartets (The Gas House Gang from 1993 and Four Voices from 2002). We have a marvellous hall and complex with extraordinary sound, sight lines and comfortable seats. We know that this is going to be one of the highest quality Chapter shows ever staged in Montreal.

If we start now, we should be able to sell out the Salle Pierre Mercure, and have a great program.

Saturday, May 29, 2004 is a date that should be indelibly inscribed in your calendar, because "That's Entertainment!" The theatre is a great place to sing, and also a great place to watch and hear a show.

Learn your music!

We will be doing a Sectional on Before the Parade Passes By on January 12 and Chances Are on January 19.

Quartetting Songs.

If you are interested participating in the weekly session Stan Kido will be happy to slot you in.

Songs are sung in quartet or octet at each meeting. Don't be shy. Join in the fun, and try quartetting yourself.
