Recording Location Changed!
We are going to be recording our entry in the CBC Choral Competition on Tuesday, February 3, 2004. The location has been changed to Church of St. Augustine, 176 Westcliffe Ave., Pointe Claire, QC.
If you are coming from the TransCanada (route 40), exit at Sortie 52, (Boul. St-Jean sud), and turn right over the 40 to Boul. Hymus. Turn left and take Hymus to Hastings. Turn right on Hasting to Westcliffe and turn right. The church is on the left.
If you are coming from Route 20, take exit 51 (boul. St-Jean nord) to Chaucer (just before Fairview Mercury and Hymus) and turn right. Take Chaucer to Glasgow and turn right. Follow Glasgow around til it becomes Westecliffe. The church is on the right.
Fall Forward 2004 - Oct. 8-10.
Details will be coming. See the Members Only section of the web site for updates. All you need is your member number and a password. If you need more explanation, feel free to ask for help.

The price is now $65. Since we all need to be registered, and in attendance, do it today!
Our featured guest quartet is MatriX along with NED's own Overdrive.
Sign up for Singing Valentines.
One of the best activities we carry out is the Singing Valentines. It is an opportunity to share our hobby with people celebrating their love, and at the same time making some money for the Chapter.
Now is the time to sell a few Singing Valentines. At $50 they are priced right. Check out our web site and see! http://www.nedistrict.org/montreal/
Show time is coming. Sell ads, tickets.
It's Show Time! Have you sold any ads yet? How about tickets? Have you thought about people you would like to invite to see you do "that thing you do on Monday nights?"
If we start now, we should be able to sell out the Salle Pierre Mercure, and have a great program.
Quartetting idea.
I think it is time for us to revive the Barber Pole Cat program, This gives members a common repertoire when we visit, go to contests and conventions, parties, etc.
If you already have your Barber Pole Cat quartetting pin for one part, why not learn the 12 songs in another part or two or three. Then when someone says, "What part do you sing?" you can reply, "What part do you need?"
If you have been a barbershopper for more than a month, you will have noticed that tenors are a rare commodity. If you can sing the tenor part, you will be in great demand. Baritones are not rare, just strange. Basses are God's Chosen People, and are the foundation of every quartet. Of course, there is the melody. If you think that only leads get to sing it, you are mostly right.
We still have chorus repertoire as well, of course!
