While the Search continues…
we are very pleased that Lindsay Chartier and Drew Wheaton have agreed to co-direct us.
The position of permanent Co-Directors was offered to them, but other commitments made that impossible for them at this time. Lindsay is the Director of Montreal City Voices, the Montreal Chapter of Harmony Inc. and Drew is just beginning his degree in music education from McGill University. We are very pleased that they will be sharing their talents with us for the immediate future.
The Board will be meeting before tonight’s rehearsal for an update on the continuing search for a permanent musical director.
Wheaton’s hosted the world, again!
On Saturday, the barbershop world congregated in the back yard of the Wheatons for their Annual Salad, Chocolate Dessert and Corn Roast.
The day started out warm and ended up with a little rain, but the food and drink was abundant. A lot of people attended, but not many from our Chapter. You missed a great party, guys.
There was lots of corn, hot dogs and singing. There were 29 salads registered and 49 chocolate desserts. Yum!
Guests attending the Wheaton’s bash came from as far away as Maine, Massachusetts, Ottawa and other exotic locations.
Goodbye and Good Luck, Rob.
Last Monday’s rehearsal was different in many ways. We did warm up, we did sing, but we did most of it at the T.A. Vern (that’s Tavern for the uninitiated!)
Our President, Bert Brossoit, had arranged a "last supper" for our departing musical director, Robert J. Mance.
We dragged Rob to the T.A. Verne, along with our guests and better halves, etc.
There was time to eat, time to sing and time to remember, and it was a fun night. It was also a rare occasion, since we had a director leaving, but there were no hard feelings on either side of this departure.
The Chapter and Chorus are happy that Rob is leaving on good terms, and wish him every bit of good luck in his quest for his Masters Degree.

We welcomed Vittorio (Vito) Salvatore again last Monday. There is a great chance that we can say, "He is going to join us, and be a great asset."
Talk to somebody about barbershop this week! Our target for members this year is for a 7 member NET INCREASE by the end of 2006. We have had a couple of members, who forgot to pay their dues, so we are down in membership!
