Installation at Brokelamp Mountain.
The Installation and Awards a success.
President, Bert Brossoit, found a great location for our Installation and Awards Day. Auberge Le Refuge Morin Heights was a very pleasant location.
Our resident DVP – Events, Steve Wheaton, installed the officers and we sang a few songs to entertain the other diners.
The broken lamp in Bert’s projector meant we missed seeing our highlights show, and provided the title of this article.
Stan Blicker is BOTY for 2005!
Congratulations to Stan Blicker on being selected as Barbershopper of the Year for 2005. Stan has been Vice-President – Music & Performance for several years now, and has been an extremely valuable member of the Chapter.
His contributions are too numerous to list, but include his riser moving exploits, Music Committee activities, work on fund raising, entertainment at Fall Forward and the arrangement thereof.
Thanks Stan, and congratulations!
Great Northern Harmony Workshop
Once again this year we are going to be coached at the Great Northern Harmony Workshop.
Everyone should plan to be there for the full day, as we will be receiving coaching as a chorus for the full day, by Steve Tramack, Director of the Granite Statesman. The day starts at 8:00 AM and will finish at 6:00 PM, after the mini-concert by the participating quartets and choruses. Please make sure you are there!
Registration is $55.00 before January 16, 2006. Complete your forms tonight, and hand in your money, or it will cost you $65.00.
Mid Winter Webcast cancelled.
The webcast of the shows and the Seniors Quartet Contest form Sacramento, CA has been cancelled due to lack of support by the deadline. The committed costs would have been more that the committed revenue, and the Society could not afford to take a loss, so the webcast was cancelled.
New uptune for 2006
We got the first instalment on the new music for 2006 last Monday evening.
Rob Mance presented us with the learning tracks and music for "Exactly Like You," and the chorus seemed to get a great start on learning this neat arrangement by Scott Kitzmueller.
A sectional this evening will get us another step closer to learning it.
Isn’t it fun to learn new music quickly and well?
