HX Camp Northeast August 12 - 15, 2010 Worcester State College Worcester, MA HX Camp NorthEast will be taking a new direction this year! For the first time, boys AND girls will enjoy barbershop harmony on the same weekend!!!! Harmony Explosion (HX) camps provide a great multi-day opportunity for the high-school singer to meet other students who share similar interests, learn more about singing and vocal technique, experience the thrill of barbershop harmony, ring 4-part chords 'til the wee hours of the morning, and have a ton of fun! This years Harmony Explosion Camp is shaping up to be the best yet for the Northeastern District ALL IT COSTS IS A $20 REGISTRATION FEE!!! Our guest clinicians for the students will be Mr. Raymond Schwarzkopf and Mr. Larry Bean. This year, we will have a clinician working exclusively with the Music Educators. That gentleman is Dr. Bill Adams. Raymond Schwarzkopf Raymond Schwarzkopf is a sought-after coach, teacher and performer. His many years in theater, music (both vocal and instrumental) and teaching have made him a valuable asset for every group he has worked with. A Life-Member of the BarberShop Society since 1979, he has performed with numerous quartets and earned International Medals with the New Tradition Chorus. A graduate of Northwestern University, a Certified Director and Certified Music Judge, Raymond works to enhance the skills of performers by giving them the tools they need to get in touch with their music... and reach their goals! Raymond travels the globe, working with performing groups of all sizes and ages. On the few days when he is not traveling, he spends his time teaching middle school, high school and college students. He can help you get more out of your music and enjoy performing even more!!! Larry Bean Dr. Bill Adams Dr. William Adams is enjoying a diverse and extensive career in music as an educator, conductor, performer, composer and scholar. His studio in Durham, North Carolina provides instruction in Voice, Woodwinds, Piano, Theory, and Jazz Improvisation and covers a wide range of musical styles from opera through musical theater, jazz, and folk. Dr. Adams maintains an active schedule as a conductor and clinician, primarily in vocal music, throughout the country including work with Honor Choirs and Festival Choirs. As a performer, Dr. Adams has worked as an operatic baritone with more than 60 roles to his credit in opera, musical theater and oratorio. He has also worked extensively as an instrumentalist in ensembles ranging from symphony orchestras to blues bands on more than 35 instruments. His compositions and arrangements have received international performances and awards and his research in the music of Ralph Vaughan Williams has received international publication and attention from universities around the world.
