Director's Notebook Gleaned from an email

On the agenda for this week:

Songs on the summer agenda are likely*:

Tapes for Eight Candles, Orange, That's a Plenty and Have Yourself should be available momentarily.

Well... I think I've remembered everything. Just one more little thought to ponder... Most of you are very good at learning your music... however, there are one or two "rebels" in the group who come to rehearsal and try to "fit their part in". As a service, to you, the "rebel", I am offering the advice that that approach to music learning may be possible on How Deep (although not recommended), but, it will absolutely in no way work on Words, Orange, That's a Plenty or Have Yourself. Parts of, or the whole of each of these pieces are dissonant and don't always travel to where you expect them to go. They are wonderful arrangements of great pieces that will serve us well. They will take a little bit of effort to perfect, but we will take things slow enough that we can give ourselves the opportunity to do a great job with each of them. Just be sure to give yourself the adequate preparation that these pieces demand.

Lastly... it was so cool to hear from so many of you last night about how Saturday was the best performance you had ever participated in. (some of you having other music backgrounds as well) Saturday night felt so wonderful. We knew it, the audience knew it, that something special had happened on stage that night... and man did it feel good. What a giant step up from last year!!! Where do you want to be next year???

Congratulations and thank you again to all of you who helped out to make the show the success that it was. Work hard, and I'll see you next Monday.

(* subject to change...blah...blah...blah :-))

And Addie said: "This marks the 10th Anniversary of the event. In the past, so many people have mentioned that they would like copies of the wonderful recipes for the salads and chocolate delicacies served. Therefore, we have decided to compile a cookbook.

""Over the past 10 years, there have been over 300 attendees at our party. Obviously, not all at the same time!!!! There were many repeat offenders J (thank goodness – or we’d think no one enjoyed the day). The most that we’ve had at one event is 127 – that was the year we had the Tour Bus pull up in front of the door and we allowed 25 Austrians to join us J !

"Just think, if everyone submits his or her recipes, what a great book this will be!

"We need your help in doing this. Would you be so kind as to try to remember, and share, all the recipes for the Salad/Chocolate that you have brought to the party over the last ten years? I think this could be a lot of fun!

"The intent is to give each contributor a copy of the book. This said, you could imagine the task ahead of us! Should you wish to contribute your recipes, we request that you send them to Addie at

Adelinde Tauchner
4135 Tracy Street,
St. Hubert, Quebec J3Y 6K8

or by email to <mailto:adelinde.tauchner@attglobal.net>

Obviously, an electronic form would make the task even that much easier! (If you’d like us to send the form to you via email, just let Addie know at the email address mentioned above.) "We must set a deadline of July 20thth in order to be able to edit, compile, print, copy and bind in time for August 25th.

"People that are attending for the first time, this year, may contribute their recipes, as well, and get a copy of the book to see what they’ve missed over the last decade!"
