Daylight savings time: why are we saving it and where do we keep it?

Erin Howden rode again!

Orange Colored Sky and Steppin' Out got Erin's treatment last Monday. Predictions that we would be singing with more involvement when Erin was through were correct.

As a late comer, I was really impressed with the way she had worked the Orange Colored Sky choreography with the chorus in such a short time. I arrived at 9:15 PM, and was able to see the last run through. Not only did the chorus look good, but the sound quality was there as well (something Erin remarked on at the end of the evening.)

The reworking of Steppin' Out made us more confident and will improve the visual and singing, since we can get more comfortable with the music and moves together.

Erin suggested that we should always try to learn the music and the moves together. That way we have several different cues to performance.

Erin, as usual, finished the evening with more energy than 90% of us on the risers, and she would have every reason to be a little tired. She is expecting an addition to her family in September!

International 2003 News.

We are looking for a few good people. How would you like to chair a committee during the International Convention in 2003? There are several key spots we have yet to fill, and we need to do that soon.

For example, the is a spot on the Executive Committee that will be at the heart of the action, Secretary! If this position does not set your heart to beating faster, how about editor for the daily newsletter?

Ask Steve Wheaton or Murray Phillips for information on the positions we are still trying to match to a great person. Since everyone in the chapter will be working on the International convention in 2003, why not get yourself a great job, where you will learn something new, or you can use a talent that will make the event go even better.

We don't want to end up looking like swans on a pond. Everything looking calm and smooth on the surface, but frantically paddling below the surface

What do we want?

Several years ago, a survey of the members revealed that we wanted to become a quality singing organization that seriously challenged for the District Championship.

This goal is coming closer and closer to being realized. Do we have the common purpose and work ethic to get us to that objective? Is it still our common goal?

No answer offered, just the question.

Set up those risers, Baris & Tenors.

Thank you, to all those who have taken on the responsibility for setting up and taking down the risers. We seem to have an inordinate number of people who are unable to help. Please lend a hand where you can.

Harmony Inc. Area 2 AC&C

We are all asked to help with the Harmony Inc. Area Contest and Convention. Since there will be an opportunity to enjoy a great barbershop weekend, I am sure you will want to be there.

In addition, we will want to help them, since they will be helping us with International 2003.

Steve Wheaton has a sign up list. Please, join in the fun. It is on the weekend of April 26 to April 28, 2002. We will have completed our ARCIM duties by then.
