Wisdom comes with age, but sometimes age comes alone.

Boston Common show still on!

There was a time when it appeared things were not going to work out at all. Even the November 2 date was not going to work for Boston Common. It now appears that we may be able to work it out for this year, after all.

Keep your fingers crossed, and let's start learning some Christmas music anyway. We will have Singouts to do!

International News

All volunteers who wish to see any part of the contests MUST purchase a registration package.

Registrants (before January 1, 2003) will pay $100.00 US. Use the web link to register TONIGHT!

http://www.spebsqsa.org/montreal/registration.htm

A quote from Kenosha: "The cutoff for registrations for the early draw has passed. There were 4,640 registrations received and processed as part of the early draw. We didn't hit 4,600 registrations for Portland until October 31st. Looks like we are well on our way to a great convention."

The Steering Committee, augmented by several committee chairmen held a meeting last Thursday, and began the serious job of identifying the areas that need attention first. The meeting went well and we feel prepared for the first meeting with John Schneider, SPEBSQSA Manager of Conventions.

One of the first areas we want to have completed is the hosting of choruses. This will require about 40 people, preferably from the Montreal area (so they can recommend restaurants, etc.) with one or two people being assigned to each chorus.

The folks from Portland told us that quartets do not want a host or hostess, but we will offer the option to them as they qualify to compete in Montreal.

What is my job?

Steve Wheaton has been patiently talking to people for several months (years?) about the jobs that need to be done for International and getting people to sign up.

If you are wondering, "What did I sign up for?" or "Did I sign up yet?" or even "Where do I sign up?" Here is the answer. Steve has a list, and will be pleased to put you in a spot where you will feel comfortable. See him tonight!

Paying your dues is your job!

There seems to be some confusion over who is responsible for paying your dues. Each member receives a notice from Society headquarters showing the amount due in US and Canadian money.

If you pay by credit card, you can do it on the Internet. You can also return the form and send a Canadian Cheque, by mail. Chapter dues are to be paid to Treasurer Ray Watkins.

When are International and District Dues due?

The major due dates are March 31, June 30, September 30 and December 31.

Set up those risers, Leads.

Please lend a hand where you can.
