Laughing is good exercise. It's like jogging on the inside.
Boston Common show still on!
November 2, 2002 is the date, as far as we know. It now appears that we may be able to work it out for this year, after all. Alan Kenley is still looking for a hall.
Keep your fingers crossed, and let's start learning some Christmas music anyway. We will have Singouts to do!
No Flatting
From the website of David Wright"This arranger dislikes the sound of a sagging tonal center. Therefore the proper key, relative to the initial key, should be always maintained. If an arrangement goes flat, the arrangement police will enter the premises and collect a fine of $10 per singer per semitone flatted, with an extra $2.00 assessed against leads. All flatting fines will be donated to the Young Singers Foundation."

The Steering Committee
will be meeting with John Schneider, SPEBSQSA Manager of Conventions on Thursday, and bringing him up to date on our progress. The Steering Committee and many of the Committee Chairmen will be participating in this meeting. Most of the Chairman have been found, and have started getting their activities under control. In the following weeks, a different chairman each week will describe briefly what they are doing.
What is my job?
If you are wondering, "What did I sign up for?" or "Did I sign up yet?" or even "Where do I sign up?" Here is the answer. Steve Wheaton has a list, and will be pleased to put you in a spot where you will feel comfortable. See him tonight!
The other option is you get assigned to parking lot duty.
Eleven things I've learned from Noah's Ark:
One: Don't miss the boat.
Two: Remember that we are all in the same boat.
Three: Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.
Four: Stay fit. When you're 600 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.
Five: Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
Six: Build your future on high ground.
Seven: For safety's sake, travel in pairs.
Eight: Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.
Nine: When you're stressed, float a while.
Ten: Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
Eleven: No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting.
Animal-like
The stockbroker's secretary answered his phone one morning. "I'm sorry," she said, "Mr. Bradford's on another line."
"This is Mr. Ingram's office," the caller said. "We'd like to know if he's bullish or bearish right now."
"He's talking to his wife," the secretary replied. "Right now I'd say he's sheepish."
Set up those risers, Basses.
Please lend a hand where you can.
