Boston Common coming for show!

The only Saturday that Boston Common is available is November 2, 2002. Unfortunately, Salle Claude Champagne is NOT available.

Does anyone know of a good hall that seats 700-1000 people that is available?

Register for International NOW!

All volunteers who wish to see any part of the contests MUST purchase a registration package.

Registrants (before January 1, 2003) will pay $100.00 US. Use the web link to register TONIGHT!

http://www.spebsqsa.org/montreal/registration.htm

A quote from Kenosha: "The Montreal registrations have been coming in like crazy, everyone wanting to get in for the July 15th draw. It will be interesting to see what the registration total is at the end of July."

To see what information we are providing to potential delegates check the Society site and follow the links to "Learning about Montreal."

Our Summer Costume is back!

The collars have been replaced, so the flag is the right way up.

The members must now pay $50.00 toward the cost of our outfit. The Chapter will pay for the remaining cost.

If you wish to reclaim your shirt, Jerry Silverberg is ready to give it to you, but PAY NOW!

Paying your dues is your job!

There seems to be some confusion over who is responsible for paying your dues. Each member receives a notice from Society headquarters showing the amount due in US and Canadian money. If you pay by credit card, you can do it on the Internet. You can also return the form and send a Canadian Cheque, by mail. Chapter dues are to be paid to Treasurer Ray Watkins.

Set up those risers, Baris & Tenors.

Please lend a hand where you can.

Andy Do-ré, Tenor, South Shore Saints

I remember that at 20 I was making 111$/week (Canadian dollars, mind you)... and if I had known Barbershop existed back then...I would have taken a night job shovelling manure to be part of our wonderful society. 100 dollars is 25¢/day.... A penny an hour....

A penny an hour to be part of a world-wide "gang" of gentlemen who love to sing, and who share a common addiction that is healthy, provides entertainment, does charitable work, educates, creates lifetime friendships, brings people together through hardship, death, sickness, family, lessons in humility, patience, kindness, and brotherhood...

Every week I learn something new from members,....I couldn't get that kind of education at McGill University! The stories the old-timers tell...Some are incredible!! History lessons in their truest form...The laughs...

Wow...not to mention all our wives and children who have also created friendships because of our Society....

For gosh sakes, we spend more $ going out for a good dinner and drinks.... Or on a good bottle of Scotch...100$ can be found under your couch cushions over the course of a year! (Or in the couch in the lobby of any hotel!)

That 100$ investment may make a grandmother cry to hear one of the oldies...Perhaps a tune that she danced with her deceased husband, perhaps a song the her father sang to her...That 100$ will spread joy 100% of the time.... I don't know of any investment with such high return to anyone's moral.... Some people don't recognise a good thing when it's staring them straight in the face...

Thank you from John Briffett

Please express my heartfelt thanks to the many members of the Island City Chorus for showing their support and understanding at this hard time. It meant more than any words can express. It was nice to discover how many friends one truly has!
