International News

A group of members will be attending the 2002 SPEBSQSA International Convention and Contest in Portland, Oregon and will be selling registrations for our 2003 Convention and Contest.

The first 2,000 pre-registrants will receive a souvenir pin. If you want one, make sure that you arrange to have your registration bought for you in Portland.

See one of Steve or Andrew Wheaton, Murray Phillips, Al Mahoney, Ron Dawson, Ernie Chappell, Peter Evans, Stan Blicker, Alan Kenley, or Bert Brossoit. You can get the registration form out of the latest Harmonizer. Your payment can be made by Visa, MasterCard or Cheque. You will need to supply your address and member number.

Early-bird registrants will pay $100.00 US. That will also put you in the early registrants' draw for seats and housing. All volunteers who wish to see any part of the contests MUST purchase a registration package.

Mini-Pitch Editor off to Portland.

There is a great opportunity available to you, Dear Reader. The editor of this newsletter is going to the SPEBSQSA International Convention and Contest in Portland. There is a two-week period requiring an editor. If you feel you would like to take it on let me know!

Summer Costume is here!

It is time to decide how you want to pay for your share of the Summer Costume. As previously announced we are looking great in a forest green polo shirt, tan pants, brown belt, brown socks and brown shoes.

The members will be asked to pay $50.00 toward the cost of our outfit. The Chapter will pay for the remaining cost.

If you wish to use your accumulated credits to defray part of the $50.00 cost, you need to inform Jerry Silverberg as soon as possible, but PAY NOW!

Sincerest sympathies, John Briffett

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Mary Briffett (nee Boyce) beloved wife of John Briffett on June 21.

She had been ill for some time and you will remember that we went to sing for her and the other patients and staff at the Centre d'Accueil in Dollard des Ormeaux, last Christmas.

Our thoughts and best wishes are extended to John and his family. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, June 25 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 boul. Des Sources, Dollard des Ormeaux, and the funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 26 at 1:00 PM, at the Paroisse Ste-Suzanne, 9501 Gouin Blvd., Pierrefonds.

Set up those risers, Baris/Tenors.

Thank you, to all those who have taken on the responsibility for setting up and taking down the risers. Please lend a hand where you can.
