Singing Valentines sung this week.

The Pensionnaires and Key of Eh? were busy on the Valentine Trail last Thursday and Friday, delivering songs of love to the homes and workplaces of people from all over Montreal. It was a wonderful experience, and highly recommended for every member for next year.

Stan Blicker did a great job organising things, and we had over 23 deliveries. We will clear about $1,100 for the Chapter. The opportunity to see the look of surprise, pleasure and love that comes with the delivery of two love songs, a rose, a box of chocolates and a card are priceless.

The most fun is to see the tears of joy that we bring form one lover to another.

"The Magic of Barbeshop Harmony," March 23 takes shape.

Only 5 weeks left to ShowTime. We had a great response to ticket sales in the first two weeks. We have about 300 tickets out the first week and another 150 last week. Only 550 left to go.

Just go to your list of friends, family and business acquaintances and you will discover that most of them would love something to do on a weekend winter afternoon. All you have to do is ask them.

Sell those advertisements!

And remember free tickets with ads. Alan Kenley has already sold about $2,000.00 worth of advertising and given away tickets with the contracts. It's easy. Just ask for the orders. You will be surprised how many will say yes.

Jeffery Mance has agreed to handle ticket sales. See him on Monday night with your commitment as the best seats are going fast. Members have already taken over 450 tickets. He would like to have money turned in as soon as you sell the tickets.

Peter Evans has taken on the job of co-ordinating the sale of tickets to Seniors Residences, and he is looking for your help. If you have contacts. Offer your help to Peter.

Walter Mueller has agreed to handle the finances so to keep him happy we need to sell out the hall. Let's do it like we did in the old days.

Darren Prentice is in charge of set decorating and Bert Brossoit sound and lighting.

IMPORTANT: We need a volunteer to handle the program book. This includes the sale of advertising and the creative and assembly of the program book itself.

Please email AlanKenley@aol.com if you are in a position to look after this.

Here is the music line up for the show. Please pull out your music and tapes and make sure you have all of these numbers down pat.

Orange Coloured Sky
Witchcraft
Roses of Picardy
Sixteen tons
Old Black Magic
You'll Never Walk Alone
Old Fashioned Love Song
Summertime
If I Had My Way
Steppin' Out

We need to sell out the theatre. It can be done, and with YOUR help it will. We have placed an ad in Chanter, the magazine of the Alliance des Chorales du Québec, telling about the show. It will appear in the February issue.

International News

The International Convention is going to take place in a little less than five months. We are starting to accumulate the reserve of volunteers needed to make this a successful convention.

Next Monday, please discuss your volunteer role for the International Competition with Alan Kenley. Remember, we will need everyone's total commitment the week of the Contest.

On Monday he needs the sign up sheets for anyone who haven't handed their's in yet.

If you know of any former members, friends and acquaintances who would like to see an International Convention from the inside, we can offer them a fun week and a souvenir shirt for their time and effort.
