"The Magic of Barbeshop Harmony," March 23 takes shape.
Only 4 weeks left to ShowTime. We had a great response to ticket sales in the first two weeks. We have about 300 tickets out the first week and another 150 last week. Only 550 left to go.
Jeffery Mance is handling ticket sales. See him on Monday night with your commitment as the best seats are going fast. He would like to have money turned in as soon as you sell the tickets.
Sell those advertisements!
And remember free tickets with ads. Alan Kenley has already sold about $2,000.00 worth of advertising and given away tickets with the contracts. It's easy. Just ask for the orders. You will be surprised how many will say yes.
IMPORTANT: We need a volunteer to handle the program book. This includes the sale of advertising and the creative and assembly of the program book itself.
Please email AlanKenley@aol.com if you are in a position to look after this.
Peter Evans has taken on the job of co-ordinating the sale of tickets to Seniors Residences, and he is looking for your help. If you have contacts. Offer your help to Peter.
Walter Mueller has agreed to handle the finances so to keep him happy we need to sell out the hall. Let's do it like we did in the old days.
Darren Prentice is in charge of set decorating and Bert Brossoit has taken on sound and lighting.
Just go to your list of friends, family and business acquaintances and you will discover that most of them would love something to do on a weekend winter afternoon. All you have to do is ask them.
Here is the music line up for the show. Please pull out your music and tapes and make sure you have all of these numbers down pat.

Walk of Hope
Stacy Hugman-Frenette,
Special Events Co-ordinatorPlans are underway for the 6th Annual "One Step at a Time" Walk of Hope so please mark your calendars now. The Missing Children's Network Canada, in collaboration with CJAD/MIX 96, is proud to announce that its annual Walk of Hope will be held on Saturday, May 31st, 2003 at Centennial Park in Beaconsfield, 288 Beaconsfield Blvd. Last year’s walk was held on the coldest, dampest, darkest day the Walk of Hope has ever seen, but that didn’t stop the over 400 brave "soles" who participated. The energy that day sparked over $22,000 in pledges and saw the largest turnout ever. Now that’s teamwork! With Mother Nature’s blessing, this year’s Walk of Hope is expected to see over 500 participants. They will kindly devote a few hours of their day to raise awareness for our plight of missing children, but more importantly, to help raise funds. This enables us to continue fulfilling our mission of educating the public in order that we may prevent more children from becoming victims of aggression and exploitation.
Wouldn’t it be fun to get all 5 barbershop choruses in the Montreal region to partake in this fun event by kicking off the celebrations with a song? We wouldn’t have to stop there; we can sing barbershop songs the entire 5 km route!!!
The route, through the beautiful streets of Beaconsfield, ends back at Centennial Park at noon, but the fun doesn’t stop after the walk. There will be a victory celebration awaiting you at the finish line with refreshments, snacks, door prizes, animation and the best music DJ and entertainment around. Perhaps the barbershoppers can even entertain with another song?
Let’s help the Missing Children's Network by showing the community what barbershoppers are all about; friendly, fun, caring people. Here’s how it works. It’s as easy as 1-2-3!
*Please note that in order to participate in the victory celebration, a minimum of $20 must be collected.
This is a great opportunity to be seen by the media just before the big International men’s convention. Let’s help raise funds for the Missing Children's Network and help raise awareness of barbershopping in general. Best of all we will get to spend some time with our fellow singing friends once again.

Editor's Note: This seems like an opportunity to have fun, and to get our name in front of the community in the West Island. If you feel this is a good idea for the Chapter, let me know. Here is our current and future repertoire list:
