Emcee named to host "The Magic of Barbershop Harmony."

Great news on the host front! Ric Peterson, host of CJAD 800's The Ric Peterson Show will be our host and emcee for the big show, bringing his vibrant energy, infectious passion and enthusiastic personality to our show.

A self-professed info-junkie, who's opinionated, bright, and informed, Peterson has won a loyal following in 21 years at CJAD 800 and Standard Radio Montreal.

Jeffery Mance is handling ticket sales. See him on Monday night with your commitment as the best seats are going fast. He would like to have money turned in as soon as you sell the tickets.

Sell those advertisements!

And remember free tickets with ads. Alan Kenley has already sold about $2,000.00 worth of advertising and given away tickets with the contracts. It's easy. Just ask for the orders. You will be surprised how many will say yes.

Murray Phillips will be handling the program book. This includes the co-ordination of advertising sales, and the creative and assembly of the program book itself. Please, give your ads to Murray for inclusion in the book.

Peter Evans has taken on the job of co-ordinating the sale of tickets to Seniors Residences, and he is looking for your help. If you have contacts. Offer your help to Peter.

Walter Mueller has agreed to handle the finances so to keep him happy we need to sell out the hall. Let's do it like we did in the old days.

Darren Prentice is in charge of set decorating and Bert Brossoit has taken on sound and lighting.

New Quartet at Saratoga?

Last week, a new NED quartet was formed: "Bourbon Street" is made up of Tenor: Bill Hoogeveen, Lead: Mike Nichols, Bass: Bob Nitzschke, Bari: Tom McQueeney. The Bass is 6'9" and the tenor is 6'5" and Mike Nichols says he feels like he is singing between the Twin Towers. These guys may be pretty good.

Key of Eh? has a new lead.

After singing together for over seven years, Jeffery Mance decided he had had enough, and wished the other members well. After a brief discussion, Al, Ron and Murray decided they enjoyed singing together, and looked for a lead to sing with them.

Alan Kenley has sung all four parts, and can sing a mean lead. So after a couple of times singing together the decision was made to carry on as Key of Eh?, and go to Division this spring. Despite a short time they have been singing together, they know they will have a good time, and will get some coaching from the experience.

New Computer Virus

It seems that there is a virus called the Senile Virus that even the most advanced anti-virus programs cannot take care of. It appears to affect those born before 1958!

Pastor joins a club …

A local pastor joined a community service club, and the members thought they would have some fun with him. Under his name badge they printed, "Hog Caller" as his occupation. Everyone made a big fanfare as the badge was presented. The pastor responded by saying, "I usually am called the 'shepherd of the sheep'... but I guess you know your people better than I do."
