Chartered Bus to Division.

The Board of Directors has decided to charter a bus to go to the Division Contest in Schenectady, New York. The bus will leave Montreal at 6:00 AM on Saturday, March 20, and will take approximately 4 hours to make the trip to the contest site, Schenectady High School. The bus will leave after the chorus competition and evaluations are completed and return to Montreal by late evening.

If you are driving, here are the directions. From Interstate 87 (The Northway), get off at Exit 6 (Schenectady). (Be careful, there can be a lot of merging traffic on the exit ramps that Exits 6 & 7 share). At end of Exit 6 ramp, turn right onto Route 7 West (this is a

four-lane state highway). Go 6.9 miles (11.1 km), where Route 7 West splits into Rt. 7 West and Union Street. You will see large overhead green sign for Union Street prior to the fork in the road. Bear right onto Union Street and travel 1.5 miles (2.4 km) to McClellan Street. Turn right onto McClellan Street, go 0.3 miles (0.5 km) (pass traffic light at Rugby St.) to stop sign at intersection of McClellan St. and "The Plaza." The high school will be on your left. Turn left onto The Plaza and go down to far left side of high school. Turn right into parking lot.

If any other people will be coming with you, please notify Bert Brossoit at tonight's rehearsal. There is room on the bus, and there is no charge for chapter members and their families. It will be a 50 seat coach.

The Cavaliers and Riverside 4 from South Shore Chapter and Key of Eh? from our Chapter are singing in the quartet contests. Anyone who arrives in Schenectady on Friday evening, be sure to come and cheer them on.

Show time is coming.

May 29 is Show Time! Have you sold any ads yet? How about tickets? Have you thought about people you would like to invite to see you do "that thing you do on Monday nights?"

We should be able to sell out the Salle Pierre Mercure, and have a great program. Give ticket money to Ray Watkins.

We have two great quartets coming. Four Voices were the 2002 International Champions and The Gas House Gang won gold in 1993, but they keep getting better! Tony De Rosa will be singing baritone with the Gang when they are with us here in Montreal. It should be a blast.

Of course you know that we are singing very well and that we are learning a bunch of great new songs.

Here is our current repertoire list: [mp3] means that the mp3 file is on the Members Only web site
