New Society Logo revealed.

On Friday the Barbershop Harmony Society revealed its new logo/Service Mark.

After sixty years, the Barbershop Harmony Society has released a successor to its logo-- a dynamic, fresh look that welcomes members and expresses the fellowship of singing four-part harmony.

"Our new logo is a marvellously elegant statement of who we are: singers of four-part harmony," said Society President Rob Hopkins. "It brings to mind a quartet, but it also could be four men in any row of a chorus," he explained. "The different colours of the facial profiles reminds me that our members come from all different walks of life, yet share the core elements of singing, fellowship, fun, enrichment, and creativity. I love the way that the facial profiles add depth to the design, and the clean, uncluttered, contemporary look is great"

Dozens of concepts submitted from a variety of sources were reviewed and refined before the Society Board of Directors approved the final version. Look for the new logo to begin appearing immediately in various publications and web pages.

This new logo is only a starting point in the process to re-energise the Society's outward focus, and create a vivid awareness of our Society's unique sound and the experience of barbershop singing. This new image evolution, while greatly significant to us all, is not in itself the single step that will change our fortunes. However, it is the right and necessary first step.

Interchapter night March 28.

We will be celebrating our 55th anniversary tonight, but we will have the members of the St. Lambert (South Shore) Chapter with us, as well as any guests you would like to invite on March 28.

Show following Contest

We have been asked to participate in a show following the contests in Brattleboro, VT. We will compete, then eat, then entertain, then leave for home.

The show will start at 7:30 PM, and we will be on early in the show so we can take the bus back and arrive late Saturday or early Sunday Morning.

Quartetting at 7:00PM, tonight!

We have started the Barber Pole Cat program again, and all members who are interested in learning, or helping to teach are welcome. We started on Monday, February 28 at 7:00 PM, and will be continuing for the foreseeable future.

Show time in 11 weeks!

Our Show Chairman extraordinaire, Bert Brossoit has given out show tickets to those who pre-ordered, and he is ready to provide as many as you need.

Alan Kenley has agreed to be the advertising co-ordinator, and we need to talk to companies, our dentist, barber, you name it. Lets fill the program with business card ads, quarter pages, half pages… well you get the idea.

This will be a joint show, with the West Island Sweet Adeline Chorus and will feature Commonly Unique and our 2004 International Quartet Champions, Gotcha!.

Show email list now available.

When you are talking to your friends and acquaintances about our show, ask them to subscribe to our new Show Email List.

Send a blank email to iccshow-subscribe@yahoogroups.com and they will be registered to get updates on shows and performances, and possibly last minute specials.

This list will only be used for sending notices, and they will only receive two or three messages a year, announcing shows or performances.

Guest from Oz visits again.

I shared with several of you last week that our guest hadn't been there when I went to pick him up. Doh! I was a week early.

Bob Kennedy our visitor from Australia is in town for meetings with IATA, and will be dropping in to sing with us again. He had clearly stated that he was coming this week, but I was sure that he would be here last week.

That will teach me to read.

Another look.

The new logo is now part of the masthead of the Mini-Pitch.
