Bruce graduated from Dartmouth in 1961 with an AB in Engineering science and in 62 from Thayer school with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He immediately joined Polaroid where he worked for 39 years. He was appointed an Engineering Fellow in 1972. He designed cameras, electronic printers and developed optical systems and was credited with about 150 patents.

Bruce has been married for most of his life to Marsha (Halpin) Johnson since 1961. (You do the math)! Marsha graduated from Colby Jr. (now Colby Sawyer) and Katy Gibbs. They have 4 children and 7 grandchildren.

Bruce and Marsha live on Pleasant Lake in New London where he has been busy with engineering consulting, boat restoration, Habitat, Rotary, tutoring, hiking, biking, sailing, skiing and traveling. He has been with the Chordsmen since 2002 where he has been in charge of “Greetem and Feedem” and the annual brochure ad campaign. Of course Bruce sings Bass.

Marsha volunteers at the Fells, with “Good Beginnings” and at Colby Sawyre, and joins Bruce in many of his activities.
