Michael was born James Michael Warning in Columbus, Ohio in 1948. In 1970, he married Diane Dixon [dd] and they moved to San Francisco to become hippies. That didn’t happen ‘cause the “summer of love” was in 1967 – a disturbing development. And a theme in Michael’s life. He has always been a bit behind everyone else or ahead.

Dd and Michael found actual jobs, finished college and spent a great deal of time in Sf eating and drinking the most amazing food from every where on the planet. Meeting and making friends with the most eclectic group of folks: East Africans, a real Indian [Asian] Princess, a real Jewish Princess, East Oakland African-Americans, Go-ans [look up Goa in your atlas] construction workers, firefighters, police officers, baseball fanatics, artists, dancers, singers, actors, Latinos, holocaust escapees, gay folks and straight folks, revolutionaries and reactionaries. No children for M and d, but our friends had many.

Dd and Michael have traveled extensively in England, Scotland and Wales. If you are interested in finding out where to go, give them a call. They have also been to Hungary and Holland.

In the Spring of 2004, dd retired after more than 30 years with the State of California. Michael just stopped working for large corporations and has started a construction safety consulting company.

After many years of traveling in various parts of New England, they agreed on New Hampshire. They moved to Otterville – a suburb of New London, NH -, rented a house and began looking for one to buy. They moved into their new home at the end of June, 2005 in Wilmot – another suburb of New London.

Michael joined the NCC in Nov. of 2004 to sing Christmas Carols. He has no formal singing training except that which he has received from the North Country Chordsmen in the past year. He has not sung with any organized group since the church choir as a boy.

Michael legally changed his name to Michael Stuart Warning in 2004. He was never called James or Jim when growing up. Was always called Mike or Michael [preferred]. Stuart is the name of his Father’s Mother’s family.
