 THANK YOU, FRANNY PAGE!

A SPECIAL THANKS to Fran for taking the time to repair your editor's computer, and then driving all the way to Bradford to deliver it. You must understand, no computer, no bulletin as your editor only uses the typewriter in extreme emergencies. The other reason is that on the computer, I don’t need white-out to correct my many mistakes. Again Franny, thank you so much.

We had guests last week. From Danvers, came one Kevin Gould, while from right here in Beverly came former member Wayne Hansen and Paul Downey. Two more former members one from Lynn, Paul McCormack and one from Marietta, GA, a former chapter president John Daly. We also had a guest from Salem, back for his second visit, Whitey Plecinga. WELCOME TO ALL OF YOU!

CALENDAR WITH SOME CHANGES:

WEDNESDAY,  OCTOBER 16th  Our next roving meeting, quite possibly in Gloucester.

WEDNESDAY,  OCTOBER 23rd  We will be performing at Salem High School as the feature performers in their annual musical evening. The uniform will be the TUX  with RED  accessories. This is the eighth year we have performed there to probably our most enthusiastic audience

OCTOBER 25 to 27  District Convention in Lake Placid, NY.

MONDAY, OCTOBER 7th  Our next E-Board meeting. All members are invited to attend. Come and find out how the chapter operates.

SATURDAY,  NOVEMBER 2nd  9:00 to 4:00pm  A special coaching session on voice training. The meeting will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church on Cabot St. in Beverly. For those with short memories, this is the same church where we had the coaching session with Freddie King last year.

FRIDAY,  NOVEMBER 15th  Our annual  INSTALLATION BANQUET at the Hilltop restaurant  in Saugus. Dinner will be served at 8:00 pm sharp according to chairman Nino. The menu will consist of either prime rib or fish, your choice. The price remains the same as last year at $25.00 per person. Nino hopes to see everyone there!

SUNDAY,  NOVEMBER  17th  We are performing at the Everett Armory from 2:00 to 3:30pm. Please try to arrive by 1:00 pm  for warm up.

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 4th  This is a change from October 30th.  The Al Poole  Jamboree. Because at least half of the tenor section will be away, this is the alternate date. Your chairman hopes this date is more amenable for everyone.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 14th  The annual high school quartet super bowl at the Higgins Middle School in Peabody.

CALENDAR FOR 2003

SATURDAY,  JANUARY 18th Tentative date for  voice training/ competition package coaching session with outside coaches.

MARCH  14th to 16th The Northshoremen are hosting the Spring Pre-lims competition at the Peabody High School. Our own Leon Pelletier is serving as chairman of the event, We will need the entire chapter's help to make this week end a success. So, if Leon should tap you on the shoulder, just say, yes I can help!

SATURDAY, MAY 10th  The date of our annual show  which provides the major portion of the funds necessary to sustain the chapter for the year. This year's feature quartet will be  FREELANCERS who are ranked thirteenth at the international this year. Now is not too early to start selling ads or your ticket selling list. A point of info. The Freelancers  are the old quartet, BSQ, with a new bass, who just happened to be the bass of Dealers Choice when they won the gold in 1973.

A  CORRECTION! Last edition, I stated that the word MEMBERSHIP contained two words. I’m wrong, it contains three  words. Those words are ME and MEMBER, and SHIP.  Now, put together you can come up with SHIP ME a MEMBER.
