On Q is celebrating its fourth year as one of the top performing quartets in the Society’s Northeastern District. Combining a smooth blend of voices with an air of fun, OnQ provides family-friendly entertainment to audiences with their unique brand of harmony and comedy. On Q was named the Yankee Division’s top quartet of 2005, and since then has placed in the top 10 in the Northeast for three years in a row. At the recent District Contest and Convention in October 2007, Tom, Steve, Jim, and Harrison placed a strong 6th. Here in 2008, On Q has again placed first in the Yankee Division Quartet Contest!
Tom Savinelli is the newest member of OnQ. Tom is a medical doctor residing in Cromwell, CT. Tom sings tenor with both OnQ and the 2007 Northeastern District champion quartet, Quadraphonic. The very talented Steve Wolf provides OnQ’s lead voice, sings baritone with Quadraphonic, is a graduate of the Hartt School of Music, and is a drilling band member of the Army National Guard. Bass Jim Kew, is the quartet's most senior member (in age and experience) and spends his days working as Administrator for the Simsbury First Church of Christ. Harrison King, III sings baritone with On Q, directs the UCC Church’s choir in Granby, MA, and works in the Operations department for a Springfield-based moving and storage company. Tom, Steve, and Jim are all active participants in the Silk City Barbershop Chorus of Manchester, CT. Harrison can be found on Monday nights harmonizing with the Pioneer Valley Chordsmen Chorus in Chicopee, MA.
This quartet would not be here today if it were not for the efforts of three additional singers, all of which were members of OnQ at one time. Many thanks are to be given to Matt Taylor, John Anton, and Scott Glosick for getting this group started!
