House of Delegates
WHAT IS IT?

District House of Delegates — 4.01 How constituted:
The District House of Delegates shall be the supreme legislative and governing body of the District and shall consist of:
(a) the duly-designated delegate, or delegates, from each duly-chartered District chapter;
(b) each member of the District Board of Directors;
(c) any number of past District presidents, at the option of the District House of Delegates who are members of the Society, available and willing to serve; and whose principal barbershopping activity is in a chapter of the District.
Each of the above-named shall be a “Delegate”.
Such House of Delegates shall be subject to the rules and regulations of the Society and the Society Bylaws and shall have discretionary powers in all district affairs.

All designated Chapter Delegates should plan to attend the HOD meeting.
Hey Chapter Leaders,
This is a reminder to make sure that each chapter has a delegate at the upcoming House of Delegates (HOD) meeting. If your chapter's delegate can't attend, please appoint an alternate delegate, and send a letter of certification from the chapter president or secretary to the district secretary.
Setting up the "Chapter Delegate to District" affiliation in the new member center can be tricky, so please reach out to me if you need help.
Attendance at the HOD meeting is important because this is where chapters can make their voices heard and approve how the district operates.
A quorum of 30% of delegates, alternates, board members, and past presidents is required to transact business.
If your chapter's delegate, president, or alternate can't attend, please call, write, or email one of the district officers to share your chapter's thoughts on any matter relating to the functioning of the Northeastern District (NED).
