PURPOSE OF THE STANDING OVATION PROGRAM (SOP)
The purpose of the Standing Ovation Program is to assist chapters in the Northeastern District to develop shows that will be so good that they achieve a Standing Ovation at their conclusion. The reviewer will investigate all aspects of the show, starting with how easy it is to park his car to his arrival at the venue and then all aspects of the show itself, from the opening to the closing curtains. Many things make up the experience of an audience member and thats what the reviewer wants to find out&how welcome has the chapter made each audience member.
The reviewer will try to highlight the many positive things that the chorus did and point out the areas where improvements can be made.
The SOP is available to NED chapters and quartets as well as Sweet Adelines and Harmony Inc chapters. Our experienced reviewers are willing to evaluate chapter shows and holiday concerts, including quartets performing on stage. We would also like to expand into evaluating major performances for chapters and quartets. It is hoped this opportunity will allow the review team to assist in improving the quality of performances and audience enjoyment throughout the NED.
